This is a really good song. The intro is very unusual, but strangely appealing, and reminds me of the earliest works of avant-garde from artists like John Cage and Pierre Schaffer, who would later go on to teach music to one of my biggest inspirations: Jean-Michel Jarre.

Especially the addition of the flute-ish notes and the reverbant bell synth really helped the song grow to massive sizes, while also keeping it small and intimate at the same time. The 808's are catchy, diverse and iconic, and the classic pad instruments give me both a slight sense of nostalgia as well as a sense of rediscovery. Mainly because I didn't grow up in the 80's, and so, I've never really been alive to see the hype around the sounds from the time.

The ending is stunning, with those bells resonating one last time to let that 'feeling' really sink in. Overall, a really good piece of work, and a well deserved 5 stars from me.

It’s nice. It has got a lot of energy, and the percussion is thankfully impactful enough to measure up to all the busy, hyperactive synths that are running through the mix.

It feels pretty bland and repetitive, however. But given how you put just 3 hours of work into it, it’s explainable why that is.

Not a bad song, but it could’ve been loads better, given the potential there was here.

I fully agree with your comment. Thank you for leaving your feedback on my song.

First of all, nice work. I have placed a review here earlier, but I've listened to this song again, and I can appreciate it more now. Secondly, I noticed something pretty cool about this song, because a lot of the instruments that are used here sound almost exactly the same as some of the sounds I have on my own synthesizer. I own a Yamaha PSR-E403, and the piano's, saxophones, basses, brasses, and some of the percussion sounds exactly the same as in this song, so that's also a funny extra for me. Could it be that you recorded this song on one of these Yamaha's?

Anyways, well done. 7.8/10

EagleGuard responds:

Hey man, thanks for the revised review! I actually used the Roland Sound Canvas VA (88 PRO module) for this one, so no Yamaha's were involved. Pretty sure you could get similar results with a Yamaha module, though!

This is actually really cool. I’m all into strange, unusual music. This is like attending a 1990’s party while acid is rushing through your system. Good work.

I like the vibes of this track. I can almost hear Jean-Michel Jarre-like influences in this track. Being a massive Jarre fan, I can recognize some of those influences.

Further on, the track is pretty straightforward, and feels like an overall really happy, good feeling type of track. I like how you made the drums sound so wide and impactful. It really adds to the crispiness of the track.

It also doesn’t run for too long to become a tedious listen, and the melody is really catchy, so you did a good job here. Congrats! 👍🏻

Thanks, man.

Eargasms ahead.

All jokes aside though, this is a pretty funny sounding track.

The groove is unstoppable by a thousand blockades. I really love the production on this. That percussion sounds so broad and powerful, and the vibe is really happy, and puts a smile on my face. Probably my favorite Waterflame track yet.

Nice blend of acid-techno and IDM in Aphex Twin style or so. By the way, you should check out Aphex Twin if you haven't already. I like this song pretty much.

7.6/10, rounded to 4 stars

Hey! Good to see that you have made another song after all this time. When I found out, I decided to immediately listen to it. This review is based on first listen and might be suject to change in the future. But for now, this is what I have to say about it:

I can already tell you kind of went back to the more epic cinematic side of your catalog from the earlier days (Rise of Champions is probably my best reference to this statement) and I like how you keep the constant fantasy vibe in the track.

I haven't played the game, so I cannot make any image of the characters you tried to describe with all the several parts welded together into one track, but I feel like you pretty much nailed every single one of them (I only have this image as my reference). The fact that this is a seven-parter that changes, but not to the point of sounding completely different also helps in that perspective. It feels like a suite of an orchestral concert in that way or something.

My favourite part of this track was immediately Daria's part (3:32), it was calmer, and I always like the sound of the bell in music (because it enforces that feeling of epicness) and I just liked the string and choir arrangements throughout.

For a fantasy piece, this works really well, but I am probably not as much into fantasy as you are. For the track, in and of itself, I'm feeling a 7.9 out of 10 (rounded to a solid number, that's 8/10, so 4 stars).

Good job in that regard.

EagleGuard responds:

Thanks for the lengthy review and your thoughts man, I really appreciate it! And you're right, I've been exploring the orchestra a bit more recently, so I hope to make some more orchestral tracks when I find the time, haha.

That impact is so fucking awesome in my headphones! I'm digging this track.

JessieYun responds:

So glad you enjoyed it! Sorry for such late comment.

Hello everyone. I am a young musician with a strong passion for video editing/creating and making electronic music. Further on I have a part-time job as a promotion video creator, and music is more of a hobby of mine. I might combine them in the future.
